Thanks to everyone who came out to the 2nd Annual JFK Family Dance Party on March 24, 2023. (And for braving the rain that rolled in!). See photos below!

Huge thanks to all the volunteers, supply contributors, those who brought potluck food and to our community partners. Big appreciation to Mr. Junior as MC, Ms. Danielle for engaging the students in choosing songs to request from the DJ, and to Ms. Sanchez and Dr. Copeland for all the school coordination.

Zumba was brought to us by Bernadine Lormilus, who is also a BPS educator who used to work at the JFK.

James Purtle brought the junk percussion from Spontaneous Celebrations, home of many youth and community projects, creator of Wake Up the Earth, and neighborhood gathering spot.

Tunes were provided by Handel Dixon / dj handz, who is also a neighbor of the school.

We were joined by the Hyde Square Task Force to promote their youth programming focused on AfroLatin arts, civic engagement, and more.

Jamaica Plain Coalition & Family Engagement Network/Tree of Life shared about their baby, family, and parent programs and services.

Connolly Branch of the Boston Public Library, a community- and neighborhood-involved branch that provides services in English and Spanish, has a lot of ongoing partnerships with JFK teachers, and brought free books to give to the students at the party.

JFK parent Bibi Pantoja promoted her business, Made with Love by Bibi — reach out to her to buy flan, coquito, and more.
